Currently, Petpet Park is not able to support thousands of people playing the game at the same time without the game crashing. This means that there are still bugs in the game, and the game is also not finished. ConclusionĪnd there you have it! These were the primary mechanics for Petpet Park, but of course, I might be missing some because it's simply been such a long time since anyone's been able to play the game.Petpet Park is still in beta testing. Of course, the user could invite other players into their home to hang out and socialize as well. In fact, the garden was used in a quest to receive a free to play petpetpet, the clucken by planting the clucken egg in the garden and incubating it every day for three days straight. Besides buying furniture and customizing the player's home, the player could plant crops in a surprisingly large space, and even place furniture outside, which allowed them to decorate the interior and exterior of their home to their hearts content.īoth the home and the garden even had their own separate themes. The Home and GardenĮach player was given their own home much like other MMOs in the same vein, but alongside that, Petpet Park gave the player their own full-blown garden. Most, if not all the minigames had their own music to them as well, and are likely what a lot of players remember doing most in the game as a primary way to experience it. The goal of the games varied widely from stacking games, tower defense games, to even a fully fleshed-out card game where the player could purchase card packs around the map to further improve their deck. ![]() Petpet Park had a plethora of various minigames scattered around the map that the player could enjoy either alone or with friends to earn park coins. Some of these items include food or treasure map fragments, also needed for certain quests.įrom looking at the archive of Jellyneo's Petpet Park item list, it seems like there was the "dirty old shovel" and the "trusty shovel" to dig things up with, one of them likely being a NC item for exclusive drops. With a shovel, the player can dig at spots in the ground with pirate flags sticking out of them to unearth some buried treasure. Just like fishing, the jewel pickaxe can harvest exclusive ores while the regular one cannot.Īnd yet again, various minerals were required for various quests. Like fishing, a tool is required to perform this action, but unlike fishing, the player needs to purchase either the regular pickaxe with park coins or the jewel pickaxe with NC. In some areas like the Wailing Tunnels, there are ore deposits the player can mine from to obtain various minerals and ores. These fish were also used in various quests, but unlike harvesting, the player did need a tool in order to perform the task. There is the regular rod that could be bought with park coins, but there was also a premium rod that could only be bought with NC, but that rod would allow the player to catch fish the normal rod could not. FishingĪll around the park, there are various fishing spots that have area-specific fish that the player can catch using a fishing rod. There are other things the player can harvest from that is not a plant via shaking like a pile of edible worms or snowflakes in a skating ring, but they have a similar function when it comes to harvestibility and quests. ![]() This does not require a tool to do, just the petpet the player controls and being able to get close enough to harvest the fruits. The player can go up to these plants, click on them, and their petpet will shake the bush to harvest the items. Scattered across the map, the player will come across all kinds of bushes and plant life with signs next to them, stating that the fruit on them can be harvested. Gathering these items can be split up into multiple categories of tasks needed in order to obtain them, as listed below: Harvesting Plants In turn, these quests provide various rewards like clothing, food items, and even a quest specific petpetpet. Most of these items are used in Petpet Park's various quests from NPCs around the map. The main way Petpet Park is played besides minigames is by going around the map and interacting with a plethora of objects, many of which give the player a motley of items from fruits, fish, ores, and more like snowflakes. So, today, let's talk about some of our wonderful park's mechanics. This is mostly so people can remember what the game was about and what you actually did in the game since let's face it: it's been a minimum of eight years since this game existed, and I can imagine it's been a decade or more for many other players who want to see the game back.
